Scoops looks EXTREMELY fabulous.

Tara's got a pile of talent, that's for sure, but the thing that gets me is that many of the layouts are somewhat hard to read; conflicting silhouettes & such. At any rate, lots of fearless energy, Tara - fun stuff.

love that SMOKES! panel. It's kinda trippy. One thing I haven't figured it out yet - what is on that belt Scoops is always wearing?

Haha another great one. The "masculine arms" line had me laughing out loud, and comics don't usually do that to me.

Thanks Tillie! Well, its a Pacman ghost belt buckle. I actually had a strip based on a flashback he has on how and why he owns that belt.

Damnit, I'm late to comment. This one has some of my favorite expressions ever. Actually they're some of the best expressions I've seen in a while. Tara knows what shes doing. And her colors are oh so loverly :]

Tara has certainly created an interesting strip. Whether this testing facility is only the beginning of her story, or the actual setting of all strips to follow, it is rife with material to mine, and I mean that. I love funny strips, but humor is so much more rewarding when it's laid over a more serious premise. I'm not green, nowhere near in fact, (The tree-huggers can have my gas guzzling pollution machine when they pry the steering wheel out of my cold dead hands!) and even I'm disturbed by animal testing. The opening scene from 'Plague Dogs' haunts me to this day.

I really hope Ms. Billinger has considered what a fantastic setting she's chosen for her strip and will give us equally ambitious stories.

All that being said, however, I do somewhat agree with Kelly, the layout is confusing, and if I may add, some of the text is hard to read. These are minor obstacles to overcome and I look forward to seeing her style advance as the strip continues.

If I understand this correctly, Ms. Billinger's strip is only going to run for four installments, but I sincerely hope that's not the last we see of her on Dumm. Her layout needs work, but her concepts, expressions, colors, and subject matter are stellar! I give it three out of four slash/burned acres of rainforest.
