"A Cry For Help" by Gerald DeJesus
August 31st, 2010 by GabeThis is it, the definitive end to Big Pants Mouse. I saved Jerry's masterpiece as the final final final Big Pants. Why? Because it's all there. Like us all, Jerry has always had a soft spot in his heart for this little mouse, but unlike the rest of us, Jerry's heart is quite different.
Jerry is an amazing artist. You have seen his work and you didn't even know it!

My friend Tony introduced Jerry to me at a Carl's Jr. in '99. Tony wanted me to put in a good word for Jerry at Spumco. He was amazing, and we hired him for his flash expertise, but unbeknownst to me, I already "knew" Jerry.
See, some of us guys at Spumco had this contest called the "Ace Card". We would find the nastiest filthiest videos online and share them as our "ace card". Tony always seemed to have a HUGE amount of videos and would usually always win. But those times changed when Jerry started at Spumco. Jerry was Tony's secret supplier of depravity. If I would have known this, I would have told our boss that we needed to hire Jerry on his filth finding abilities alone!
Since then, I think I've worked with Jerry on every flash project I've done, including the Big Pants Mouse pilot at Disney. He is an amazing art director, bg designer, painter, animator, and all around great guy. Thanks for the final word Jerry, you put the final nail in Big Pant's coffin.
Thank you all for all the support over the years. Here's to the end of Big Pants and the start of Life In The Analog Age next week!

great work buddy!!!
Just not a fan of these "It never happened" Endings.
So long Fred - and thanks for all the Ho.
Best of luck with the animated toon.
This whole story reminded me of that Ren & Stimpy episode Space Madness.
Even though it is kinda rushed, I love the kind of sad ending you've put here. Makes me sad their funny interactions never took place.. but they never really did, it's just a comic.
I agree with #5 about how you've increased the Dumm Comics variety. It was quite different.
Guys, do you think we will ever get out of our solar system?
Thank you for all your hard work, Fred Osmond! Looking forward to any things you make in the future!
One thing--and maybe I'm missing something in the continuity--but did Sam and Fiz do something to cause the nuclear holocaust, or did that happen independently of their adventures? Because if it did happen independently, then that means Sam, having never left Earth, will/should be killed with his family when it occurs. That means he won't have the opportunity to become Pea Zoup, and the whole strip will have been one big paradox!
Can't wait to see Rufus&Horny in action - and whatever else is on deck from the Osmond...
I do have to say though, that as sad as the ending was, I did love it. I know you poured some much time, effort and heart into this comic. The conclusion of it truly captures the essence of who you are - such a loving person full of such wonder and curiosity. And even though I know Fiz was not real, it speaks so much to YOUR character that you would choose to not kill him off, but instead have Sam sacrifice himself. I’m so proud of this humongous accomplishment, and of course can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future! Thank you for letting me be a part of it.
All in all GREAT job on the past year, Fred, and I can't tell you how much we all appreciate you taking the time to bring such a big project to us all on your own, while toggling your work, marriage and social lives as well. ALSO glad to hear that Sam and Fiz will live on in future guest strips! P.S. Don't be a stranger! Hope to see you soon IRL, buddy!!!
Also, a clock is one helluva face to make. I cant even image how you would manage to even vaguely form a clock face.
