Great set-up, everyone was gonna think that it was gonna be about something else but it wasn't. And your NG animations are great, fucked up though.

This must have taken about 5 minutes to produce and gotten the joke off the junior high school bathroom stall. Worst strip I've ever seen and there are a lot of bad ones online.

That sucked. I agree with chris that you wrote this in like 5 minutes. It's like reading a bazooka joe comic but with immature puns. What's annoying though is that I know you're capable of doing better, I've seen it myself. So it's like you're approaching these strips like "yeah I'll just scibble some shit down and submit it. haha". As if drawing purposly ugorganized wonky comics with cheezy unmotivated writing is funny in itself. Almost as if your mocking the audience. It kinda reminds me of Wacky Deli. Anyway you know you can do better than this, so instead of complaining about the h8ters, why don't you put more effort into your comics in the future and try entertaining them. Thanks buddy.

Constructive Critique is always welcome but you little anonymous hit-and-run cowards are really starting to make me angry.

I really like your comics. Seriously, I do. But the way you responded to the "h8rs" really made me lose a lot of respect for you. It's like your entire vocabulary is "f*ck this" and "sh*t that." Plus if you really don't give a shit, it seems really odd that you'd write paragraphs about haters in the first place. Buuuut, I guess you don't care what I think because I'm a "stunted adolescent" for finding any fault in you at all.

Seriously, man. They're just haters. No need to let it get to you like that. It saddens me that a couple of people not liking your comic every week makes you consider bailing on the site. To me, it sounds kind of insulting towards the other Dumm artists who put as much effort or more into this site as/than you do.

I like the humor in these strips, I just wish it had better line quality. The rest of the art is great, it just those lines

I'm considering bailing because i have other projects that probably deserve more of my attention than the shit i do for this site. And it's more than just a "couple" of negative comments every week. These are the same dudes that attack me on my blog, through email and other places on the internet. I've kind of had enough of the bullshit.

But i guess you wouldn't know because you don't see the other side. All you see is the straw breaking the camel's back.

I love the comic today and always. Out of curiosity, how long did this comic take to make? It's not a dig at all, it's just that I'm not an artist so it'd take me days. Just wondering about your process.

Hey. This one is obviously shorter so not as much time as other comics. As with most comics i do they start out as rough doodles. Depending on how ruff they are, i do another pass to fix the poses or add more details then after that do a "loose" ink/ruff cleanup. And then color. Since this is a reoccurring character i didn't have to spend as much time picking colors for him. I'd say this might have taken an hour to an an hour and half total time, from conception to end. Some of my comics take longer if i get stuck on a pose that's not turning out the way i want it, or if there are ton of panels to color(more time consuming than you'd think). haha. Hope that explanation made sense.

Made perfect sense. Thanks for the timely response. I just showed this comic to a friend, and another thing that we discovered we liked about it was just how big it is. Like, it could easily have been a tiny three panel comic, akin to a newspaper strip, but the thing takes up the whole freaking screen and makes it even funnier.

scott- thanks again. I like the fact that you can play with timing/surprise to an extent on the internet through having to scroll down to reveal the last panel, which is why i made it so huge, haha. I never liked the layout in newspaper comics because i'd always read the last panel first just by impetuous curiosity.

How can David have haters? I like his work, it's very, very honest, and absolutely MANLY. Even if I don't understand the joke itself his drawings make up for it :)

The hater comments here felt like...err....it's done by sissies or spoiled, immature brats! They don't sound constructive whatsoever. They have a choice to look at comics they like, but they deliberately pick on someone who they know wont dig his fist into their skulls. Or crack their ribs one-by-one.

I agree with Scott. I like the layout of all your comics. As for the newspaper comics, they used to give a whole page for a single strip and the artist would go crazy with it.

Not to mention I'd much rather see one of your hotly drawn lasses than an illustrated boner, but I still feel like this strip is a nice addition to Dumm. Every Tuesday there's that bit of wondering what today's Sorry Guys is gonna hold. I guess I'm saying I'm glad this strip doesn't get stale.

When I first read this comic, in the morning as I normally do, I thought it was pretty damn immature. But at night after hangin' out with the guys, it's a much funnier comic. Some jokes work better at different times. I just had to find the right time.

David, keep doing 'em how you do them. But if you can help it, please keep the wang ratio low?

@Ghosty, I always thought that "Earthward-Ho!" was a manly strip, because I don't think a female character was ever introduced! Total sausagefest.

That said, I'd like to add my own anonymous comment that this strip is lazy and weak. If you admittedly dont have the time to put much effort into a weekly (weakly?) strip, dont do one. No one's putting a gun to your head and forcing you to crap out something every week, no matter how bad.

Although, to be fair, the strip IS called "Sorry, Guys" and the site is called "Dumm Comics, so I guess I shouldnt be too harsh, but your proximity to Kimbo, Big Pants, and Skadi should make you feel a mite bit embarrassed.

Yer jokes need some better set up, and outside of puns and plays on words, most of these jokes would work just as well if someone just read it to me (this one, case in point). Incorporate the comics better into your joke. You almost had something with the fast food gag, but fall back on it with the hot dog gag and now this.

Your drawings are cool tho, and have their own sorta underlying grooviness about em, but I think you can do better than this...
