This is the proper humor I've been waiting for! I was getting worried, the last few strips.

And with that I leave Dumm comics. I have read, and at some point, enjoyed some of the comics on this site. I realize that the site is called "Dumm" and hence the humour is expected to be stupid, but I would never accuse the above comic of containing "clever wordplay".

Reading the comments on this comic and those often found on Skadi make me scratch my head, as I didn't realize that people actually lusted over comic characters, as it seems the regular posters to the site do.


But that's just one opinion

Bored - I don't think they lust over the comic characters... I just it's the "idea" they lust over, if that makes any sense (can't really explain it). The girls can be cute though, just like a drawing of a monster can be scary. Goddamn, I suck at explaining things.

Anyway - great comic! I lurve the fat momma.

I wouldn't call it "lusting" so much as "appreciating the artist's abilities to draw cute looking girls." How else are they going to draw them?

Plus if people drooling over cartoon characters is new to to you, then you really haven't been around the Internet very much.

The last four panels were kind of unnecessary, but the "plop" was funny.

I gotta say that I love this one. =D I'll agree that the joke 'could' have ended without the last four panels, but I like the joke established with them.

As for the writer of comment #9, I'm sorry you don't like the comics. But I'm afraid I can't say I'll be missing you. =P

Gemmil, you draw really good, but your stuff deserves some better inking, dammit!!!
I follow your blog and I always wondered when you'd dump flash or whatever vector thingie you use and do some real inking. Seriously, your stuff would look amazing! Right now they're like a great cake with crappy icing.
That said, I loved the comic, don't mind the whiners.

The Last four frames are a must... I don't think the strip would have been as much of a success without 'em. I know a cat named Weezy who's in a similar situation as poor Tommy is... and i think it's hilarious!!
However, I do agree with Moron(#17) in regards to your inking, or lack of. The way you've been doin' em so far does give them a unique look... but in that "i-just-threw-this-comic-together-in-15-minutes" kinda way. Not that it makes em any less funny or anything, they just aren't on par with the rest of the Dumm family.

who's throwing stones? I just said those panels didn't strike me as all that necessary to the humour. if I was throwing stones at all, they would've been much larger than that :/

@Lina comment - if you were to look through Katie's blog, you would see her old drawings of Lina Inverse and the like. She did a mural back in HS with a bunch of animu characters running around. Skadi is obviously influenced by/extremely similar to the character of Lina. Who knows if this was on purpose or if Katie would own up to such - either way, it'll probably remain an untouched topic. Sorry, Vermn.

Every artist that becomes even marginally popular has to go through the whole "you're just ripping off this artist" thing. Everyone has influences and we all soak in the world around us, if you come to terms with that you'll be a much happier person.

when I saw this comic, i punched myself in the nuts. Then I threw a kitten out the window. I hate anime and I hate aquariums. Sometimes I like to insert long pins into my fingertips, because it makes me angrier. I wish that everyone in the world would die.

tiny kitty boners and ridiculously bulging eyes are necessary therefore the last four panels of this comic are necessary. it's logic, really.

sorry guys is the best comic on dumm. hands down.
